A fourth-year student at the United States International University – Africa is appealing to well-wishers to come to her help in covering a Sh3 million medical bill. Betty Morange was involved in an accident on Thika road on 31st May, where she was thrown out of the car sustaining serious fractures on both pelvic bones and a dislocated spine.
Betty was rushed to a nearby hospital by good Samaritans and later transferred to the HDU at Aga Khan due to the nature of the injuries.
“I have metal plates and screws attached through. I cannot walk and I have undergone several surgeries and I am still yet to get more surgeries so that I can walk again,” said Betty.
The medical team foresee a possible extra Sh2 million needed besides Sh1 million currently outstanding. So far the family has managed to raise Sh1.5 million
A fundraising is slated for the 4th of July at All Saints Cathedral from 2pm. A second fundraising will be held on 4th August in support of Betty’s medical bills.
