University of Nairobi clinched the best state corporation for the second year running as Kenyatta University came second. UoN also hit another milestone as it became the only state corporation out of the 464 public entities to get an excellent score.
Other Universities that also featured in the top 10 list include Bondo University College and Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT).
The State awards were released by President Kibaki when he announced the results of the performance contracts evaluation for public agencies for the financial year 2010/2011.
The Ministry of Planning which topped last year retained its position while the Energy Ministry came second in the Government ministries category.
Prime Minister Raila Odinga said the list only featured public institutions that opted in the assessment.
Other institutions that featured include Teachers Training colleges, local authorities and regional development authorities.
