Celebrated couple and renowned Kenyan thespians Andrew Smollo and Boera Bisieri are gearing up to stage their debut stage show as a couple at the Kenyan National Theatre, slated for November 26.
The two actors will take to the stage to showcase “The Vows,” a depiction of classic and modern day love stories all wrapped up in one. The happy, the sad, the scary…the works! The show will chronicle the unpredicted nature of marriage and in everything in-between.
“Some stories are too beautiful to remain untold…and this one is extra special to me. I’ve had the rare honor of not only witnessing this couple’s journey of love, but also playing a part in bringing them together. Now, they’ve chosen the stage to share their story – raw, tender and breathtaking,” Quips Ben Tekee, who’s set to be the show’s director.
“This two-handler will take you through the highs, the heartbreaks, the laughter, and the magic of true love – performed by the very couple who lived it,” Promises Tekee.
The script is written by Emmanuel Chindia and Ted Munene (The writer of Kamum and A Nurse toto ssn3).
Smollo has acted as Josiah on Kamum, featured on Shuga Mashariki, Njoro Wa Uber and Kware. He is also the CEO of Andymaxe Entertainment, the production house behind this show and that also focuses on nurturing kids’ talents. He is also a lawyer by profession.
Bisieri has been on Tahidi High, Njoro wa Uba and Zari. She is also the CEO of Black Motion Art, a non profit that focuses on amplifying performing art in Kenya, especially stage productions. She is also a communications and PR strategist.
