The University of Nairobi has commissioned the construction of a 22-storey building at Main Campus to create more space for the increasing number of students and expansion of learning facilities.

The building will house over 10 lecture halls of varying capacity, several administrative offices including offices of the VC and DVC’s and the Graduate School of Business.

According to plans, the building should be completed in 120 weeks by Chinese construction firm, China Wu Yi. Prof. George Magoha, the VC, said that UoN has raised the financing internally while business man Manu Chandaria has contributed Sh150 million of the Sh2.5 billion needed for the building.

“The building will be named Chandaria University of Nairobi Towers to recognize the contribution the Chandaria foundation has made towards this venture,” said Magoha.
