The Seven: Robert Nesta Marley life mantras to live by

Robert Nesta Marley was born to a former naval Captain for a father Noval Sinclair Marley and a Jamaican mother Cedella Booker. Born on the 6th of February 1945, he grew up in the Jamaican countryside of Nine Mile and later moved to the neighborhood of Trenchtown to pursue his musical career.

He joined a group with childhood friend Bunny Wailer, Peter Tosh, Beverley Kelso and Junior Braithwaite and Joe Higgs. Marley’s first track titled “Judge Not” was released in 1962 at the age of 17. Over his 19-year career, Marley tried his hand at ska and rocksteady, he later made a name for himself as the most popular reggae artist. His philosophy on life and simple mantras on love and religion differentiated him from the many musicians who were consumed by fame and money.

Here are the top seven Bob Marley quotes to live by:
On Love:
1. Truth is everybody is going to hurt you: you just gotta find the ones worth suffering for.

2. Don’t trust people whose feelings change with time. Trust people whose feelings remain the same, even when the time changes.

3. Live for yourself and you will live in vain; live for others, and you will live again.

On Life:
4. Life is one big road with lots of signs. So when you riding through the ruts, don’t complicate your mind. Flee from hate, mischief, and jealousy. Don’t bury your thoughts, put your vision to reality. Wake Up and live!

5. The people who were trying to make this world worse are not taking the day off. Why should I?

6. Live the life you love. Love the life you live.
