Rihanna has not released her anticipated album ‘R9’yet, but she has released a photobook featuring stunning photos of her swimming, eating a mango and praying with her mum.
The beauty mogul and singer released her self-titled 504-page visual autobiography on Thursday (24.10.19).
The photo book documents the singer’s life as a performer and some of the most memorable moments from her illustrious career. It features 1,050 colour images and 11 special inserts collected over a period of five years.
“I am so excited to share this collection of incredible images,” Rihanna said in a statement at the time of announcement of the book. “I’m very grateful to the talented photographers and artists who contributed. We’ve been working on the book for over five years and I’m really happy to be able to finally share it with everybody.”

In some of the intimate snaps featured in the 15-pound book, the singer can be seen hanging with family and friends. One sweet photo, in particular, shows Rihanna backstage having a moment with her mother before a performance. In another one she is enjoying the sun in Turks and Caicos, her hairstylist doing some last-minute touch-up and even eating a mango with a friend.
Deb Aaronson, vice president, Group Publisher at Phaidon Press, the book’s publisher, said the 31-year-old was heavily integrated in the creative process of the book.
