The four books to help you form better habits and achieve success in 2020

Every year, most of us come up with ambitious goals. At the start of the year, we usually have the energy to keep going because hope is at its highest.

Unfortunately, some of us don’t manage to keep up with the momentum because our daily habits are not aligned with our goals. The key is always to make sure that your goals are in par with your habits otherwise, you’re highly likely to quit midway. But how do you form habits that will help you stay on track and what mindset will you need to do so?

Here are four books that will help you form better habits in 2020 to achieve your goals.

1. Atomic Habits by James Clear

This is my favourite book and one I like re-reading. Written by James Clear, this book emphasizes the need to create an identity that will be based on the habits you’re planning on following. Habits make a person so make sure you are becoming the person who follows a certain habit. If you want to lose weight, be the person who exercises daily or enjoys healthy food. It has interesting stories that make the chapters stick and with relevant examples on how to make habits stick. The chapters are well organized, with a summary under each and key points to assist in developing good habits and doing away with bad ones. 2. Fuel Your Body Goals by Miss Mandi

This eBook by Capital FM presenter and foodie Miss Mandi is another wonderful addition to your 2020 books to read on habit-forming. It’s especially useful to those seeking to eat clean and stay healthy. What makes it important to forming healthy habits is that it has actionable tips on how to control your portions when eating and counting your calories. It has 9 simple recipes that don’t take that long to prepare and the best part is, they’re delicious! 3. The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg

Award-winning American business reporter Charles Duhigg wrote this book exploring science and other relevant sources to understand why people do the things they do. It focuses on interesting narratives and information on how once can transform not only their personal lives but business and their community as well with habits. When Charles was writing this book, he managed to lose 30 pounds, started running every morning and he no longer eats a cookie every afternoon. The book has great reviews from the likes of Forbes and the New York Times.
