Save for the last two years, the first Monday in May typically marks the Met Gala, fashion’s biggest night, when Hollywood’ s biggest names flock New York with the most grandeur of fashions.

After being pushed to September last year owing to the global pandemic, the Met Ball is back at its rightful date this year. Slated for May 2, the ‘Superbowl of Fashion’ or ‘Oscars of Fashion’ as it is famously hailed, will once again bring New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art.
This year’s Met Ball theme is In America: An Anthology of Fashion, a continuation of last year’s In America: A Lexicon of Fashion. The theme will pay homage to America’s rich fashion history of the 19th and 20th centuries, as announced by Vogue, the Gala’s official creator and sponsor.
The 2022 Met Gala co-chairs will be Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, Regina King and Lin-Manuel Maranda, while Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, Tom Ford and Instagram head Adam Mosseri will return as co-chairs.
The Met Gala marks the Costume institute’s yearly exhibition. A-listers arrive donning custom pieces made by high-ranking industry designers, created to interpret the given year’s theme.
