1. Lila Ike – Solitude
Jamaican-born Lila Ike is here with a project ‘The Xperience’. Often described as a free spirit with an old-school take to her sound, the Manchester Parish native offers up a new release ‘Solitude’ that is a wind down, with a sober message. Her melodies carry the listener on a journey, with the promised land being solitude. According to Reggaeville her career is set to blow-up.She landed features in The FADER, Billboard and Flaunt and landed “Artist To Watch” lists for BBC 1xtra Hot for 2020, Complex and Relix Magazine and is poised for more success.
2.Paille feat Etana -LoverBoy
Etana has collaborated with lesser known act Paille for a mega track dubbed ‘Loverboy’. The release came just days before the official release of ‘Gemini’, two years after the successful release of ‘Reggae Forever’ a Billboard chart topper. The 12 track album ‘Gemini’ is available for download and according to the songstress, it was dropped in celebration of her star sign and birthday.
3.Skip Marley feat Davido, Oxlade – Slow Down (Remix)
Skip Marley has dropped a refresh of the 2019 release ‘Slow Down’. Originally performed with soulful songstress H.E.R, the second remix features Nigerian stars Davido and Oxlade. The result is a afro-beats meets reggae fusion sound that is an easy listen. An earlier version of the remix featured Wale.
The original release was very popular topping the charts. According to reports, Skip Marley became the first Jamaican-born artist to ever hold the top spot of the Billboard R&B adult chart.
4. Shaggy feat Rayvon – It Wasn’t Me
Shaggy is back with a new take on the dancehall classic ‘It Wasn’t Me’. Released in 2000, the release featured RikRok. And now two decades later, the talented Orville Richard Burrell, known to many as Shaggy has modernized the track, with an interesting fusion of beats and melody.
The new album dubbed ‘Hot Shot’ is an anniversary album, set to feature various other charting tracks from the Grammy Award winner. According to an interview, Shaggy is re-releasing several hits, including ‘Boombastic’, ‘Angel’ and ‘Oh Carolina’, as well as four new songs.
He thought: ‘Why not just do these records that are huge anthems that are a part of peoples lives and their memories?’
