Fast-rising boy band Bendi Huru recently dropped their new single titled ‘Black Without Apology’. This song is a celebration of everything African and the beauty that surrounds us.
Bendi Huru was one of the singing acts that were selected by Mr. Eazi for his musical project dubbed Empawa 100. The continental project saw many acts being given a platform to express themselves musically, highlighting many Kenyan acts that had previously not been noticed. ‘Black Without Apology’ is sponsored by Empawa 100, giving them the necessary funds to record and shoot the music video. They got a grant of $3000.
Bendi Huru spoke to The Sauce about their new song saying, ” ‘Black Without Apology’ seeks to rewrite the African narrative within the 21st century and the future to come. We are living in a time when more Africans are waking up to an identity that is based on Black Pride and knowledge of self, redefining initial standards of what we wish to be and see to our own.”
The jam has been well received by fans who appreciate the poetic flow and the beats of the song. The music video has stunning visuals, with people clad in African attire and colors, sending a strong message of the royalty that is in Africans.
