Singer Gilad Millo has revealed that he has eventually acquired Kenyan citizenship more than two decades since first visiting the country.
The Sema Milele hit maker, holding the certificate of citizenship in hand and all smiles, made the announcement on his social media. “It has been 21 years since I first came to Kenya and 6 years since I applied for my Kenyan Citizenship. Now it is finally official. I’m proud to be Kenyan,” read his elation-filled caption.
The musician and Israeli national has previously opened up about his maiden Kenyan encounter, saying he was in the company of his girlfriend as a university student for a month. He has on multiple occasions admitted to his grave love for the country, that saw him relocate from Israel and quit its foreign ministry and permanently move to Kenya in 2008.
He worked both as a journalist and diplomat, the latter during which he worked in Nairobi and Los Angeles.
