Shaming by KOT forces Kenya Airports Authority to replace hideous Christmas tree at JKIA

The wrath of Kenyans on Twitter is not to be underestimated.

Kenya Airports Authority learnt this the hard way after putting up a Christmas tree at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport that failed to impress.

The hideous JKIA Christmas tree that KOT made fun of yesterday (18.12.19) has been replaced hours after it set social media abuzz.

Airport workers were seen putting together the new but yet to be decorated JKIA Christmas tree on Wednesday night.

โ€œNow that Kenya Airports has mounted a better Christmas tree at JKIA can they ensure its properly decorated. As in properly decorated, after everything weโ€™ve survived this year we DESERVE JUST ONE NICE THING. There are beautiful decorations in many shops. Thanks,โ€ Scheaffer Okore said on Twitter.

As reported by The Sauce, angry and embarrassed netizens who noticed the new Christmas took to social media to share videos and photos castigating the government for always doing substandard things.

Many compared the tree with those erected in local shopping malls like TRM and concluded that it was an embarrassment.

In March this year, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko was also forced by KOT to replace a hideous lion statue erected at the University Way.

The lion that had attracted the wrath of social media users as an embarrassment to the city and art has been replaced with a well-polished, life-like, gold-coated figure befitting the king of the jungle.
