The Return of Dub is a boutique dub and reggae live concert set for 16th November 2018.
The event to be held at the K1 Klubhouse – Roundhouse will bring together reggae enthusiasts; to celebrate the growth of the genre across continents. The concert organized by one of Nairobi’s niche event companies Bad Mambo, promises to thrill music lovers and uptown reggae fans alike.
The event will be headlined by a sound system outfit from Glasgow, Scotland known as Mungo’s HiFi who are currently on their East African tour. The 5-man group formed 18 years ago specializes in Reggae and Dub music.
Other acts including U.K MC Eva Lazarus, First Lady of Kenyan Hip Hop Nazizi Hirji, Rwandan Roots Reggae legend Lavosti, Ugandan MC Blessed San, Umoja Crew, and others are also set to perform.
This event is the culmination of a three-year journey that began on the rooftop of the Mall in Westlands on October 2015. A multitrack collaboration was produced and its mixtape has received almost 50,000 views on YouTube to date. The founders of Umojah Soundsystem were directly inspired by the 2015 concert and this one-of-a-kind homemade Nairobi sound system has been pushing their own unique brand of dub music ever since.
Tickets go for kshs 1,500 for the main floor and kshs 3,000 for the balcony area.
