Nigerian music sensation Rema has made the difficult decision to cancel all his scheduled performances for the month of December, prioritizing his health after a relentless tour schedule.
In a candid Instagram story post, the Afrobeats icon disclosed that his well-being had been overlooked amidst the countless shows he’s been performing recently.
In his heartfelt announcement, he stated, “Breaks my heart to say that I won’t be performing anywhere this December. Years of touring have taken a toll on my health, and I need time to recharge. In 2024, we go again. Love.”
Despite facing health challenges, Rema has achieved remarkable musical success this year, notably with his widely acclaimed song ‘Calm Down,’ a collaboration with Selena Gomez. The track has shattered streaming and chart records, earning the title of the most Shazammed song globally in 2023. Additionally, it was honored as the best Afrobeats song at the prestigious Billboard Music Awards.
Notably, ‘Calm Down’ made history by becoming the longest-charting and most successful African song of all time on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States.
