Reggae singer Denyque opens up about her near death child birth experience

Jamaican singer Denyque is lucky to be alive and well after facing death a couple of weeks ago.

The ‘I Miss You’ singer recently poured her heart out on social media about almost dying while giving birth.

Four weeks ago, she delivered her second born, a healthy baby girl but things quickly went sour when she developed complications.

It was discovered that she had placenta accreta, a condition where the placenta attaches itself to the uterus. She lost 4.8 litres of blood and in order to save her life, the doctors had to perform a caesarian hysterectomy which meant they had to remove her uterus.

4 Mondays ago on March 9, 2020 my daughter drew her first breath & I almost took my last. Placenta Accreta (when the placenta embeds itself into the uterus wall). I lost 4.8L of blood. What was supposed to be a regular degular C-section, quickly turned into a Caesarian Hysterectomy. In order to save my life, my uterus/womb had to be removed. Through it all though, I felt Safe.. (Raphael). I felt Protected.. (Michael). I felt an inexplicable calm.. (Uriel). GOD. I had THE Dream Team in that OR & I trusted them with every moving moment. I remember hearing Dennis (best anesthesiologist ever) repeatedly saying.. 'She's a champ.. she's got this'. I remember I was still laughing and having conversation til they brought Careem in the room and I burst into tears the minute I saw him – clearly my kryptonite 😩. I can't remember everyone's names but MASSIVE Love to Dr. Fig!! 🙌🏽 Jaime, Dennis, Brittney, Cyrus, Roxann, All the Residents, Any other Doctor I missed, All the Nurses, The Nursery Squad, My OB Daryl.. a resounding Thank You So Fxcking Much ♥️ & God Bless Y'all Forever. They say Last Monday was International Doctor's Day, but We celebrate y'all EVERY Day. Gratitude on 100 Million! I never share my personal experiences in a public space, but I felt moved to this time. This was God & his Universe in motion & I am so thankFULL to be here today.. to continue to share this space with You, to have my incredible husband, my two children, my unbreakable Family & the greatest friends. Would you believe that just hours before my mentors (@tahnida @christinehaberministries) prayed Psalm 23 over me? Whewww. God. Heroes, help me officially welcome.. our daughter.. #MyGirl: Dylann Drew Mullings • 3/9/20 • 8lbs 5oz • 19 inches @dylanndrewm #Thankful #faithFULL #ForeverGrateful #Blessed #WhatATimeToBeAlive 🙏🏽♦️
