Rappers Eve and Trina are set to go hit to hit in the next Verzuz slated for June 16.
This will be the first Verzuz pitting female rappers, a move that has fans elated.
The two rap emcees are hugely revered for their longevity and talent, and they are set to bring it all to the core on Wednesday June 16 as they battle it out on the next Verzuz installment.
The two multitalented rappers burst onto the scene in the late ‘90s and are both forces worth reckoning.
Eve and Trina are real-life friends and even featured on Ludacris’ My Chick Bad remix. Nonetheless, their music styles are the complete opposite: Trina’s lyrics are raunchy and her general public image is sex symbolic. On the other hand, Eve’s music is sensual, rather sexually toned down but lyrically upbeat.
This fact has had the internet divided on whether this is a potent match. Others feel that Eve’s lyrical ability is much better than Trina’s: ‘’That’s not even fair. Eve is a real rapper. Like, she should do a Verzuz against a male rapper, ‘’ quipped a social media user.
Both the rappers’ versatility cannot be understated either. Beyond music, Eve has ventured out into acting in movies like Barbershop and XXX. She also has had an eponymous sitcom under her belt. In 2017, she joined CBS’ The Talk as a cohost, leaving late last year. Trina has had a multihyphenated career to boast of too. She has been a castmate on the ‘Love and HipHop’ franchise and is a radio show host.
Verzuz is a battle of hits and friendly banter that was conceived by music producers Timbaland and Swizz Beatz and premiered March last year.
