Police repel rowdy mob attempting to eject University of Eldoret VC

Police have fired in the air and lobbed teargas to disperse angry locals who stormed the campus to eject the Vice Chancellor Professor Teresia Akeng’a.

The rowdy group led by local leaders had paralyzed operations at the university for several hours before police officers arrived to restore the situation.

There is a standoff at the university currently after the officers shot in the air to disperse the crowd, but no major casualties have been reported.

Reports indicate that the locals are accusing the Vice Chancellor of mismanagement of the university, nepotism among others. More to follow…
