The members of Ochungulo Family Nellythegoon, Dmore, Benzema, Exray and Gwaash seem very proud of their latest track. The visuals are a clear departure from previous videos, with the group working with video director by Ivan Odie to create a more high-end look and feel. Dubbed ‘Aluta’ the song is a new era for the prominent phrase. The phrase ‘A Luta Continua’ was the rallying cry of the FRELIMO movement during Mozambique’s war for independence, and now the youth seem to have re-interpreted the famous phrase for the present day. With a catchy hook and exceptional beat, it is easy to see why the track has garnered over 20K views in just 24 hours.
Describing the inspiration for the track, the famed group explained they, “created a song to represent the DUNDANATION!!! and the ‘MPAKA CHE’ lifestyle of the Kenyan youtman. The combination of the artists involved is a perfect blend which was much suggested by the fans due to the rapidly growing sound which we believe is the future of Kenyan music ‘GENGETONE’. ”
As earlier reported by The Sauce, Koroga Festival headliners Ochungulo Family are said to be working with fellow gengetone act, Ethic Entertainment. The ‘Lamba Lolo’ crooner sought out the crew after their track ‘Pandana’ hit 1M views on YouTubeand seemingly went to the studio to work on something new.
