Prime time news anchor, Mark Masai is among those who have lost their jobs at Nation Media Group as the company seeks to trim its payroll.
Speaking to The Sauce, Masai who had been at the Kimathi street based media house for 14 years, confirmed the news saying he had a great run at Nation and that it was time to move on.
He added that he would be back in the limelight with the various projects he has been working on.
“This is the reality of the media landscape around the world and unfortunately I was at the losing end of this one. However, this is not the end of my career in the media, I will be back on other platforms. All I have to say is watch this space,” said Masai.
The nostalgic father of two also took to social media to share a short video of his moments on air since his debut in 2008.
The print media department is said to be the worst affected by the culling of the workforce at NMG in a bid to reduce expenditure.
