Afrobeats heavyweight Kizz Daniel returns with Lemon Chase, a seven-track EP that goes beyond simply teasing his highly anticipated upcoming album, Uncle K.
This new body of work is a deeply personal offering that explores a spectrum of emotions—from love and heartbreak to inner peace and unfiltered joy—wrapped in the infectious rhythms he’s known for.
Each song on Lemon Chase serves as a chapter in Kizz Daniel’s emotional diary. The journey begins with “Black Girl Magic” and culminates in the powerful closer “Police,” a soulful collaboration with Mavin Records’ Johnny Drille and five-time Grammy winner Angelique Kidjo. With each track, the singer-songwriter crafts a soundscape that resonates with listeners on multiple levels, offering both sonic pleasure and heartfelt storytelling.
Kizz Daniel assembles an eclectic and impressive lineup of collaborators who bring their distinctive styles to the EP. Bella Shmurda, Odumodu Blvck, and Zlatan infuse raw street energy, while Fola—his collaborator on previous hits like “Lost”—adds emotional depth. The standout pairing of Johnny Drille and Angelique Kidjo on “Police” blends soul, tradition, and storytelling into a timeless piece, reflecting the richness and diversity of the project.
On the production front, Kizz Daniel turns to trusted hands who have helped him craft chart-topping hits in the past. Reward Beatz, Blaise Beatz, Magic Sticks, Bando, and Ayzed all contribute to the vibrant sonic palette of the EP.
Speaking on Lemon Chase, Kizz Daniel shares: “When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade out of it. I wanted this project to feel like real life—sweet, sour, confusing, beautiful. This is music for your heart, for when you’re healing, or hoping, or remembering. I just wanted it to be honest, authentic and true to self.”
