Ever imagined studying your favorite pop star in a classroom setting to get a deeper look into them and their art that you so religiously worship?
Taylor Swift fanatics, those that go to New York University specifically, will have the luxury of studying their beloved pop star in class. NYU’s Clive Davis Institute will be teaching a Taylor Swift course that ill give a deeper look into the singer’s music and influence and how she has impacted culture throughout her illustrious music career.
The syllabus will reportedly entail a look “at the legacy of pop and country songwriters that have influenced the pop star, plus a study of the way her creativity and songwriting have made her a durable presence in a quickly evolving music industry” according to Variety. The Shake It Off singer and 11-time Grammy Award winner has also been approached to make a guest appearance , though has yet to confirm the invitation. The course is set to run through the period starting January 26 to March 9 and there is a big waitlist already as Swifties gear up for lessons about their star.
Renowned musician John King will chair the class. “It’s such an honor to be able to share my Swiftie expertise with a sharp group of students. I hope to help them rethink how to engage with one of the things world’s biggest and sometimes divisive stars.”
The Clive Davis Institute has offered classes on other celebrities in the past, just like other top universities. Celebs like Beyonce, Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus have been studied too.
