Nigerian songbird Yemi Alade is the queen of afrobeat. She has come through with a top-tier collaboration in the new remix to ‘Oh My Gosh’ featuring Rick Ross.
‘Oh My Gosh’, which was initially released last year, as a sweet ballad, that saw Yemi singing about a lover that makes her feel overwhelmingly good. The track is a departure from Yemi’s usual dance-inducing afrobeat sound, as she delivers a more sensual tune that highlights her honeyed vocals.
This new remix sees the American rapper and Maybach Music founder Rick Ross jumping on to deliver an enjoyable verse, full of all the Rick Ross-isms we’ve come to expect: hopping on private planes, riding in Porsches, and icing out everything.
As reported by OkayAfrica the single was previously paired with a music video last year that follows Yemi as she gets gifted some fancy cars, parties with her girls in a pool and mansion, and eventually proceeds to get pulled over.
Rick Ross collaborated with another Nigerian star act, P-Square, years ago for ‘Beautiful Onyinye’ and with Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platnumz on the hit song ‘Waka Waka’. Rozay also put up a thrilling performance during his performance in the +254 last year.
Yemi who has performed in Kenya numerous times, recently collaborated with Tanzanian star Harmonize on the banger ‘Show Me What You Got’ which is off his debut EP titled ‘Afro Bongo.’
The ‘Oh My Gosh’ remix will reportedly be featured on Yemi Alade’s upcoming album, ‘Woman Of Steel.’
