Taylor Swift has officially surpassed Rihanna to become the world’s wealthiest female musician.
According to Forbes, Swift, who joined the billionaire ranks in late 2023, owes her soaring net worth to the overwhelming success of her Eras Tour.
The tour, which holds the record for the highest-grossing music tour in history, brought in over $2 billion (Ksh. 1.5 trillion) from 125 shows. This means Swift earned an average of $16 million (Ksh. 2 billion) per performance.
Swift’s current estimated net worth stands at $1.6 billion (Ksh. 206 billion), putting her just behind Jay-Z, who maintains his position as the richest musician globally, with a net worth of $2.5 billion (Ksh. 322 billion).
Beyond her record-breaking tour, Swift’s fortune is bolstered by her precious music catalogue, which is estimated at $600 million (Ksh. 77 billion). She also pulls in another $600 million (Ksh. 77 billion) in royalties and owns $125 million (Ksh. 16 billion) worth of real estate across the United States, Forbes reports.
Adding to her impressive earnings, Swift’s Eras Tour concert film has been a box-office sensation, grossing over $261 million (Ksh. 33.6 billion) since its release in October 2023.
