Meet Nairobi’s Most Fabulous Moms In ‘The Mommy Club NBO’ On Showmax

Showmax has announced the fifth instalment in its record-breaking reality series, titled The Mommy Club NBO premiering on 30 May 2025.

Following the overwhelming success of The Mommy Club in South Africa and Tanzania, the Nairobi edition promises an intimate look into the lives of five remarkable Kenyan women as they balance motherhood, ambition, and the glamour of city life.

At the heart of the show is Jackie Matubia, a Kalasha-nominated actress, digital content creator, and influencer. At 34, Jackie is a proud mother to two daughters—Zari (9) and Zendaya (2)—from different fathers. She has become known for her honesty about her blended family dynamic, often penning emotional messages to her children’s fathers on social media. While her relationships have frequently attracted public scrutiny, Jackie remains focused on creating a nurturing environment where her daughters can enjoy meaningful bonds with both their fathers and grandparents.

Joining her is DJ Pierra Makena, a celebrated DJ and actress whose vibrant personality shines through in her close relationship with her 8-year-old daughter, Ricca. Now 43, Pierra continues to defy societal expectations, proudly raising her daughter solo despite her former partner marrying someone else while she was pregnant. Through candid conversations and playful interactions with Ricca, Pierra gives viewers a touching look at the joys and realities of parenting in the public eye.

Carey Priscilla, a 35-year-old model, digital creator, and founder of Carey Beauty School, brings a business-savvy yet down-to-earth perspective to the series. A wife and mother of three—two boys and a girl—Carey shares her life with husband Benitto. Known for their humorous skits and deeply relatable content on TikTok, the couple recently made headlines when Carey publicly discussed asking her husband to get a vasectomy. Between running a growing beauty empire and raising her children, Carey’s story is one of hustle, humor, and heart.

Also featured is 23-year-old Lynne Njihia, a content creator, dancer, commercial model, and fiancée to comedian Eric Omondi. As a first-time mom, Lynne shares her journey through motherhood with unfiltered honesty—from navigating post-pregnancy body changes to the ups and downs of parenting in the spotlight. Her relatable content has struck a chord with a younger generation of mothers who see their own stories reflected in hers.

Rounding out the cast is Ofentse Tsipa, a 36-year-old South African-born life coach and podcast host living in Nairobi with her Dutch husband and their two children. A student at United States International University-Africa, Ofentse brings a global perspective to the series. Known for her work in helping individuals manifest their dreams and make empowered life choices, she uses her platform to share insights on marriage, parenting, and personal development. She is also the sister of acclaimed actor Lemohang Tsipa from Shaka Ilembe, further deepening her connection to the world of media and storytelling.
