Matata confirm new ‘revolutionary’ album is in the works; Stella Mwangi Teases New Music

Norway-based Kenyan music acts Stella Mwangi and Matata are teasing new music.

The band and rapper who have found mega success in the European land took to social media today and gave hints that they have new material dropping anytime soon.

‘’New music about to drop this Friday. But first, let’s recap on a couple of gems from the #StellaMwangiHollywoodEP, ’’ wrote Mwangi on her latest Instagram post. Matata, on the other hand, posted a soundless snippet of a possible video and captioned it: ‘’If you want us to drop this just say ng’we!’’

The 5-man hitmaking band had previously posted pictures that also pointed to a likely new release, if the cryptic captions and pictures in question were anything to go by.

The Sauce reached out to Matata to get a glimpse into what may be underway, and while they remained rather coy about it, they gave promising insights into what fans should expect. ‘’What you have seen on our Instagram is a mere piece of the iceberg. Those snippets are representative of a major body of work we are working on and it will all make sense very soon. You are the first one to hear this, but I can confirm that an album that will revolutionize Kenyan music is well in the works. That is all I can say for now, but be ready for something that you have not seen before in Kenya, ‘’ affirmed Freddy Milanya, 1\5 of the band.

Mwangi and Matata collaborated on an uptempo track dubbed ‘Achuu’ that dropped in March 2021, to lots of critical acclaim. Both acts have had success in the foreign land and are synonymous with their ultra-quality videos and hard-hitting lyrics.
