Maisha Magic Plus Unveils Its Newest Family Saga ‘Mkasi’ Premiering This October

This October, Maisha Magic Plus introduces Mkasi, an intense new family drama set to captivate audiences with suspense, power struggles, and intrigue.

The series follows the Kombe family as their seemingly flawless lives unravel after the sudden, mysterious death of their patriarch. As they grapple with grief and the fallout of hidden ambitions, viewers are pulled into a world where loyalty, power, and justice clash in unexpected ways.

Mkasi features an impressive ensemble cast. Mombasa-based filmmaker Stephanie Maseki (Michael) stars as Damaris Kombe, the mourning widow; George Kituto (Zuena) portrays Patrick Kombe, the determined eldest son; and Anita Wawuda (Jiji) appears as Karen Kombe, the family’s youngest daughter. They’re joined by renowned media personality Eddy Kimani (Sanura, Country Queens), Juma Shibe (Mvera), Zahara Mohammed (Pete), Sophie Rueben (Pete), John Mbura, Ivy Wanjiku (Sanura), Jonathan Chapuis, Hillary Namanje (Mvera, Pete), and Angie Magio (Selina), each bringing depth to the intense storyline.

Mkasi is the latest project by producer, writer, and director Daudi Anguka of AR Films. A seasoned Mombasa-based filmmaker, Anguka was behind Mvera, Kenya’s official 2023 Oscar submission, as well as Pete and Sanura, other successful Maisha Magic productions.

Sharing his vision, Anguka explains, “With Mkasi, we delve into the complex power dynamics within families and the destructive impact of secrets and betrayal. Setting the story in Mombasa adds a unique cultural layer that enriches the narrative, and I believe the intense emotions and surprising twists will rivet viewers.”

Mkasi promises a rollercoaster of drama, exploring the intricate layers of family loyalty, ambition, and the high stakes of betrayal. Don’t miss this gripping new series only on Maisha Magic Plus.
