Multi-millionaire Kim Kardashian has made $2 million only minutes after the release of her new Skims shapewear collection.
TMZ reported that the superstar raked in the cash for Skims Solutionwear within the first few minutes of her campaign going live on Tuesday, with nearly every piece selling out at speed.
It is reported that Kim’s team began working quickly to restock products for her raging super fans as soon as possible.
TMZ sources say these numbers are “unprecedented for shapewear and undergarment brands”. This is because Skims made half of the profit Spanx made in their first year, which was $4 million.
The glamour star’s mission for Skims is for everything to be readily accessible for everyone to wear. The reality TV star told Cosmopolitan earlier this summer: “I know what I want in this area, and that’s not the case with every project I work on.
“I do get insecure and just ‘Oh, I hope you like it, I hope people understand this and it’ll translate.’ But this one, I’m like no, I got this. I know exactly how to make it comfortable and even a bit sexier.”
The 38-year-old has a huge social media following, influence and recognition, and as the products have been marketed by herself, it’s no wonder the collection sold out like lightning. Famous faces including her sisters, Alice Marie Johnson and her own figure can be seen modelling the brand.
She is a frequent user and advocate of shapewear and cites her own struggles with improper-fitting garments for the evolution of her own collection.
The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star said: “I found myself altering existing shapewear to work specifically for each look that I was going for.”

The Skims collection is available in sizes XXS to 5X, as well as 28 cup sizes and nine colours. It boasts tops, bottoms, one-pieces and a selection of asymmetrical options.
