Kenyans on Twitter never fail to share their opinions and the recent claims from the Kikuyu elders had many in the Twitterverse disturbed.
According to a report on Citizen Digital, a section of Kikuyu elders have rallied in support of Anglican Archbishop Jackson ole Sapit who previously said he will not be attending the Lambeth Conference in the UK on account of its support of same-sex unions.
Speaking in Murangâ a, the elders reiterated that it was a taboo for people of the same sex to be in a marital union. They went on to add that the recent calamities facing Kenya and its people are due to homosexuality.
And now K.O.T has responded to the claims that homosexuality is the cause of Kenya’s environmental woes. Many pointed out that there might be far greater matters facing the republic that would warrant the wrath of God.
Some pointed out that the media outlet was wrong for giving the elders a platform. One wrote, ” Sometimes, the media should mute some stories. Why make these elders to look so ridiculous? ” and another @mechuli_mukenya wrote, ” Most of these media houses are for entertainment giving too much airtime for useless stories of this kind..! “
According to a recent Capital FM report, swarms of locusts have caused massive destruction in more than 20 counties, including Isiolo, Meru, Embu, Kitui, Samburu, Nyeri, Kisumu among others.
Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya was recently under fire for declaring last week that the swarms are too old to cause any danger to crops, while time farmers are using all and any means to contain the locust infestation.
