This Father’s Day (20.06.21) Kevin Hart joined Will Smith on “Red Table Talk” and the two opened up about scandals, fatherhood and fame.
The “Red Table Talk” Facebook Show has been the site where openness and honesty are welcomed and encouraged. Father’s Day was no different and Kevin Hart shared how his scandals negatively affected his children, going back to his homophobic tweets and his cheating on his wife Eniko Parrish while she was pregnant.
“My talk with Heaven…that was one like no other,” Hart said. “Getting my daughter back, getting my daughter to understand that I was sorry, that I made a mistake; that was real… Until this day, my daughter is tough on me.” When the resurfaced tweets were revealed and the public labelled him as “homophobic”, Hart said, “My daughter was so upset, because she couldn’t process how people could think this about her father. And it was so tough, because this was when I started to realize how my fame has an impact on my household.”

Will Smith shared his experience with Hart, saying that he and Jada made themselves be “really open” about the public life they lead. “We’ve found that, with our kids, we just tell them everything,” Smith said. “We just try to get out ahead of it so the kids know before the world knows”.
Hart sympathized with Smith saying “I’ve never been able to get to the kids first…every child has the internet,” and “there’s nothing that you’re gonna come across…that isn’t gonna have an impression.” Hart also shared that many people “want this seat” but don’t know what responsibilities come with it. “You gotta be aware,” he said. “That, to me, is the hardest shit in the world.”
