In these uncertain times of financial instability and economic upturn, life as a creative is up in the air due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sauti Sol’s lead and co-founder of Sol Generation Bien-Aime Baraza, renowned comedian and radio presenter Felix Odiwour also known as Jalang’o as well as Intellectual Property lawyer and songstress June Gachui have teamed up with Soar Africa for a creatives masterclass.
The live stream event will tackle the topic ‘Resilience in the Creative Economy’ on April 23rd from 2.00 pm – 4.00 pm shared on YouTube powered by Safaricom and KCB. The trio of creatives, all successful in their own right will speak on matters of leadership, financial stability, creativity and its limits during these times, as well as other matters pertaining to living as a creative in these unpredictable times.
Coronavirus has literally brought everything to a halt, and even as citizens obey the government directives and guidelines members of the creative industry including musicians, comedians, online content creators, videographers, photographers, editors, among others have been adversely affected.
The masterclass hopes to bring to the fore various questions many creatives are jostling with at this time, and seeks to stir conversation for the betterment of the local creatives industry.
According to a recent post, Soar Africa aims to enable like minded African leaders to navigate the rest of the decade and century together and truly get ahead of the curve.
