Jamaican Reggae sensation Tarrus Riley is back with a feel-good anthem that blends heart, heritage, and harmony.
His latest single, ‘You + Me = Good Life,’ has dropped today, Friday, July 25, delivering a dose of soulful joy just in time for the weekend.
Produced by Kareem “Remus” Burrell for XTM.Nation, the track is more than just a romantic jam, it’s a tribute to love, unity, and the timeless sound of classic reggae. Rooted in deep musical lineage, the song samples the 1994 gem ‘Good Life’ by the late great Cocoa Tea, originally crafted by Philip “Fatis” Burrell, the trailblazing founder of Xterminator Productions and Remus’s father.
With both Fatis (who passed in 2011) and Cocoa Tea (who died in March 2025) no longer with us, this release becomes a meaningful homage as well as a celebration.
“You + Me = Good Life” shines with a message of togetherness. It’s a musical reminder that happiness often comes from the simple things—love, companionship, and mutual respect. Riley’s lyrics champion relationships built on balance and self-worth, with lines like: “Miss Good Good your life stable, dem cyah ask wah you bring to the table, You are your own boss.”
“It’s about love in its most genuine form,” Riley explains. “You plus me equals the good life. It’s simple. It’s sweet. And it’s a way to say thank you to the icons like Cocoa Tea and Fatis, who paved the way for us to do what we do.”

Fans got an early taste of the song at Reggae Sumfest in Montego Bay on Saturday, July 19, where Riley performed it live alongside a moving rendition of the late Cocoa Tea’s original ‘Good Life.’ The performance served as a heartfelt moment of remembrance and joy—a reflection of the spirit that defines the single.
