International students show #WeAreOne with fallen Garissa Uni comrades

Students from different countries across the globe have come out to show solidarity with the 144 students that were killed by Al Shabaab terrorists at Garissa University College. In their own unique ways, the students have shown solidarity with the fallen heroes that were slain by the terrorists. The University of Cape Town held a vigil Monday night organised by UCTs East African Society, Student Representative Council.

In Venezuela, a group of students sent messages of condolences while some enacted pictures of students that were killed in a classroom.

Meanwhile, University of Nairobi students protested in the city’s CBD over the government’s failure to protect the 148 people killed in Garissa.  The demonstrators were demanding urgent government action and assurance in fighting terrorism. The activists are waving placards saying the security agencies have failed to secure the country, following reports that they ignored terror warnings targetting public universities before the Garissa attacks.
