Spotify’s AI-powered DJ just got even better. Premium users in over 60 markets can now shape their listening sessions in real time using just their voice.
Whether you’re vibing to a mood, chasing a genre, or need the perfect playlist for your day, the DJ is ready to deliver — and now, it listens.
Spotify fans have been asking for a more interactive experience, and now it’s here. You can ask the DJ to tailor your session to exactly what you’re feeling in the moment — be it a specific artist, sound, mood, or activity. Think of it as your personal music curator, powered by AI and your voice.
To get started, go to the Search tab on Spotify and type in “DJ.” Hit play, and DJ will begin spinning a personalized mix, complete with music and commentary designed just for you.
Want to change things up? Tap and hold the DJ button in the bottom-right corner. Wait for the beep — that’s your cue to speak. Say something like: “Play more Afrobeats,” or “I’m in the mood for chill jazz.”
The DJ will instantly update your session with your request in mind. If you don’t have a specific request, tap the DJ button to switch up the vibe and jump to a new section.
Some fun voice commands to try include: “Play me electronic beats for a midday run”, or “Surprise me with indie tracks I’ve never heard before.”
