Kenyan Gospel star Ben Kariuki alias Ben Cyco and his family are in mourning following the death of his sibling, Joy Wairuri.
According to a heartbreaking social media post made by the singer on Monday (11.05.20) , Joy passed on after a battle with cancer.
Friends, family, fellow celebrities and fans alike have taken to social media to send the family their condolences and we’ll wishes.
As previously reported by The Sauce, Joy was diagnosed with leukemia over a year ago and had to seek treatment in India. After undergoing chemotherapy for a few months, she was in remission. However eight months later, the cancer returned.
Early this year, the Kiiru family sent out a medical fund appeal to the tune of Kshs 5.2 million for Joy to receive treatment for Stem Cell transplant in India.
Last year, Ben touched the hearts of many fans on social media after he revealed in a video with his girlfriend and YouTuber Wanjiru Njiru that he had gotten a clean shave in honor of his ailing sister who had lost her hair due to the chemotherapy treatments.
