Gospel singer Rufftone has revealed that he will be vying for the Senator of Nairobi seat in next year’s general elections.
The Tsinyanga Tsiwere singer, real name Roy Smith Mwita, made the announcement in an interview on Churchill show, joining a list of other musicians and personalities like Jalang’o, P-Unit group members Gabu and Frasha, among others who have recently confessed to being in their quest to run for office in the 2022 elections.
“I am revealing this for the first time as regards the future tidings for Rufftone. You are looking at the new incoming Nairobi Senator, Mr. Roy Smith Mwita,” he buoyantly stated.
Prior to this announcement and in the recent past, the rapper has been involved in countrywide campus tours that he said are his efforts to mentor students and promote peace through the arts.
The first stop of the tour saw him take over Machakos University, with an audience of over 4000 people in attendance.
