The series follows Joel ( Pedro Pascal), a texas construction worker in his 50s who takes charge of a 14 year old girl, Ellie( Bella Ramsey) whom he must transport across the ravaged US to find cure for the deadly fungal infection. The Last of Us depicts a world in which humans are doing what they can to survive, with varying degrees of horror: infected monsters, raiders and the fascist military organization FEDRA. It’s a beautiful, heartbreaking story that also managed to keep fans of the original 2013 video game relatively happy.

Helmed by Lost alum Harold Perrineau, the first season of From sees the potagonist, Jim and Tabitha Matthews who arrive in the town with their family, among other residents trying to stay alive and looking for a way out. The nightmarish town gets even scarier with further threats from the forest that surround the town and the terrifying creatures that come out when the sun goes down. In season two, a busload of newcomers arrives in town, now the residents not only have to deal with the new strangers who create more chaos for them but also continue to deal with the town’s sinister energy.

Fatal Attraction

The perennial sexual thriller of the classic 80’s, Fatal Attraction has been re-imagined, exploring timeless themes of marriage and infidelity through the modern lenses toward personality disorders and coercive control on Paramount+. In this incarnation, the story unfolds over two timelines, following Dan Gallagher, an attorney who starts a torrid relationship with Alex Forrest- and he’s under the mistaken belief that he can keep his affair from his wife Beth Gallagher and their daughter Ellen. Slight spoiler alert, Alex obsesses and stalks Dan and his family after he tries to end it. The thriller turns into somewhat of a murder mystery series- with each episode, building suspense over the murder. You’re going to be left wanting more very week.

Silo

In a bleak dystopian universe of Silo (based on a Hugh Howey novel, Wool) humanity clings to survive deep underground within the confines of a colossal silo, but everyone has been there for so many generations that they have no idea why or how they got there. The survivors are forced to follow strict rules that they believe are meant to protect them. Juliette or Jules, an independent hardworking engineer is tasked with unraveling the mystery behind the death of a colleague, regardless of the personal danger that she faces, and uncovers secrets that threaten their enclosed world.

Dead Ringers

Dead Ringers combines timely topics and evokes many questions, especially those of race and class when we are taken through the wealthy renting poorer wombs, the dismissal of female pain as it moves through the sisters’ patients.
