Five New TV Shows Of 2024 That You Need To Stream

If nothing else 2024, has just confirmed that we’re living in the great era of peak TV and keeping up with even a fraction of it can be overwhelming because as soon as you finish one show another four pop up.

The list below reflects is a current array of quality programs to watch when you’re not going out this year including dramas, comedies, thrillers and more.

Expats
Creator-writer-director Lulu Wong turns her lens on three American women living in Hong Kong in the miniseries based on Janic Y.K Lee’s bestselling book ‘The Expatriates’. Nicole Kidman plays Margaret Woo, a landscape architect who gave up on her job and moved from New York to follow her loving husband, Clarke (Brian Tee) to Hong Kong. The drama plays out across two timelines: before and after a terrible accident that alters the family forever.

Mr. and Mrs. Smith
Amazon Prime new take on the 2005 Brad Pit and Angelina Jolie film starring Donald Glover and Maya Erskine features two strangers who land jobs at an unnamed company that interacts with them through casual friendly text messages. Michaela Coel, Paul Dane and John Turturro will make an appearance.

Criminal Record
This crime thriller set in London follows Detective Sergeant June Lenker (Crush Jumbo) who overhears an anonymous phone call in which a terrified woman says that her boyfriend bragged about killing another woman. Doing her due diligence, she visits the officer (Peter Capaldi) who handled the original case- a well connected man determined to protect his legacy. The two brilliant detectives wage a battle that touches the questions about ethics and politics of police work.

Death and other details
It’s a murder mystery created by Mike Weiss and Heidi Cole Addams. It centers on Imogene Scott (Violett Beane) who finds herself in the wrong time and becomes the prime suspect- among other guests and crew members. She must choose a side between the people who raised her or Rufus Cotesworth a man she hates the most but who promises to get her the truth.

Marry My Husband
Directed by Park Won-Gook and written by Shin Yoo-Dam this Amazon Prime Korean Drama centres around Kang Ji-Won (Park Min Young) a 37 year old cancer patient who witnesses the affair between her close friend and her husband, and is murdered by them, she’s given a second chance at life and goes back in time to change her future and seek revenge.
