Tanzanian music star Diamond Platnumz has shared details on how he was to feature in the upcoming ‘Coming to America’ movie.
Speaking during a recent interview, Diamond noted that he was approached by the team working on the movie, but unfortunately, they did not agree on some issues. According to Diamond, the ‘Coming to America’ team wanted to use one of his songs in the movie.
He further noted that they are in communication, and if all goes well he may feature in the film.
“Waandaji wa filamu ya ‘Coming 2 America” walinitafuta kwa ajili ya kutumia wimbo wangu Lakini kuna vipengele havikukaa sawa . Ila bado tupo kwenye mazungumzo….” he said in part.
“Coming to America” is a sequel of Eddie Murphy and it is set to premier on 1st February 2021.

Meanwhile, the entire WCB team was in Dar es Salaam for the Wasafi tour this past weekend. Following a ban on Wasafi TV for airing inappropriate content during the last edition of the tour, a raft of measures have been put in place to ensure the content adheres to the set standards, including the fact that all artists will be vetted before performing on stage.
“Tuko na kitengo maalum cha kuhakisha kwamba kila anayepanda stage ni professional, anajua kulinda na kutunza tamaduni za Kitanzania…asiyesajiliwa BASATA kwa bahati mbaya hatutakuwa naye,” Diamond said during a past interview.
