The track only released in September, rose to the top of the charts. The duo served Diamond and Patoranking to reach out to new markets. The collaboration was a match made in heaven and probably one of the best East meets West musical partnerships of the year. The track gained 8.9M views on YouTube.

5.Tekno Miles- Rara

One of the youngest artists to make it big on the continent, Tekno Miles still has lots to learn. However, it seems that his energy and creativity is making up for his lackluster live performances. With tracks such as “Diana” and the mega-hit “Duro” under his name, Techno continues to grow his name. The track “Rara” reminiscent of Femi Kuti’s unique sound gained 12M views on YouTube.

4.Mr. Eazi – Leg Over

One of 2017’s biggest surprises, Mr. Eazi took over the airwaves with the track “Leg Over.” His rise to the top has not been an easy one, however, it seems that Mr. Eazi is finally getting the recognition he deserves in 2017. Hopefully, he continues to deliver great tracks such as “Leg Over” that gained 26M views on the Tube.

3.Davido- Fall

David Adedeji Adeleke made major strides in 2017. The track “Fall” was among the most popular afro-beat tracks of the year. The truly saw the best of Davido, as the track garnered 38M views on YouTube.

2.Wizkid featuring Drake – Come Closure

Wizkid, also known as Starboy was probably the biggest Nigerian export in the year 2017. With several collaborations including Drake, Chris Brown, Wale and many others. Wizkid may have the spark that rekindled the world’s interest in Afro-beat and African music in general. The track “Come Closure” garnered 50M even without Drake’s appearance on the video.

1.Davido- If

A smooth talker, Davido delivers great lines and the freshest beats. It’s no wonder this 25-year-old has the highest viewed Naija track in 2017. “If” gained 54M views, on a track that had no collaborations, the track goes to prove that Davido needs no collaborations to keep fans interested.
