American comedian D.L. Hughley has tested positive for Coronavirus.
The ‘Heartbeat’ actor announced he tested positive for COVID-19 after collapsing on stage during a performance in Nashville, Tennessee.
The 57-year-old lost consciousness while performing at the Zanies comedy nightclub on Friday night (19.06.20) and was hospitalized according to various reports.
On Saturday, Hughley posted a video on Twitter in which he said he was treated for exhaustion and dehydration afterwards. “I also tested positive for COVID-19, which blew me away,” he says in the video. “I was what they call asymptomatic. I didn’t have any symptoms, the classic symptoms.”
The father of three plans to quarantine in his Nashville hotel room for 14 days. The remaining two nights of his four-night engagement at Zanies were cancelled, according to the club’s online calendar.
Hughley who is also a radio host said he still hasn’t exhibited any of the typical symptoms associated with the coronavirus, including shortness of breath and fever.
He is not the first top celebrity to test positive for Coronavirus, Brit actor Idris Elba and US actor Tom Hanks are some of the superstars who have battled the disease.
