Capital Fm’s Amina Abdi To host a pan-African awards show

Capital FM breakfast show presenter Amina Abdi – Rabar keeps scaling the heights of the entertainment industry.

The bubbly media personality will be hosting the 7th edition of the Africa Magic viewers choice awards in Lagos, Nigeria on the 14th of March 2020 alongside Nigerian media personality IK Osakioduwa.

Amina who is a mother of one and wife to popular Radio Dj John Rabar is an award-winning TV and radio host, MC, voice-over artist and singer.

She is popular for hosting the Friday entertainment show on NTV ‘The Trend’, co-hosting Breakfast 984 on Capital FM Kenya alongside Fareed Khimani and being the voice of Coke Studio Africa.

Additionally, she has worked on various shows on the DStv platform such as MNET’s Lifestyle and Entertainment Show ‘Mashariki Mix,’ ‘Moments’ on Ebony Life TV, ‘Maisha Superstar’ on Maisha Magic East and currently ‘The Turn Up’ on Maisha Magic East.

Amina posted on her social media platforms expressing her joy to host such prestigious awards and her gratitude to DStv for making her the first East African to host the awards that are known to be West African dominated.

“We are excited to present Amina Abdi Rabar as the new female co-host of the 7th edition of the AMVCAs. She is vivacious, full of wit and has a very cheerful personality. We look forward to her and IK bringing some magic on stage as we gather to celebrate the best in film and television, ” said Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu, Channel Director, Africa Channels about Amina.

This year’s nominees include Kenyan actor and musician Pascal Tokodi, the only Eat African to bag a nomination. He has been nominated as the best supporting actor in Movie /Tv Series for his role in the movie ‘Disconnect’ which featured other big names in the industry like Brenda Wairimu, Catherine Kamau, Bridget Shighadi, Nick Mutuma and Patricia Kihoro.
