Nigerian superstar Burna Boy has once again won the Best International Act award at the BET Awards.
The 2023 edition of the BET Awards took place Sunday at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
Although Burna was not present at the awards, his presence was felt when he was announced as the winner of the prestigious award.
His 2022 album ‘Love, Damini’ was a worldwide success, and he already took home a BET Award in the same category in 2019 and 2021.
He beat the likes of Aya Nakamura, Ayra Starr, Central Cee, Ella Mai, K.O, L7nnon, Stormzy, Tiakola and Uncle Waffles to win the award.
On the other hand, Cameroonian-American artist Libianca known for the hit song ‘People’ took home the Viewers Choice: Best New International Act award
She was set up against other acts including; Asake from Nigeria, Camidoh from Ghana, Flo from UK, Maureen from France, Pabi Cooper from South Africa and several others.
The evening celebrated hip-hop’s 50th anniversary and featured a tribute performance to the late Tina Turner.
