Bruno Mars and Anderson. Paak to perform At the Grammy Awards

Silk Sonic’s duo consisting of Bruno Mars and Anderson. Paak has been added to the list of performers for the Grammy Awards 2021 after having a social media campaign to join the lineup.

The two began a hashtag #LetSilkSonicThrive earlier on in the week in a bid to get added to the performer’s list and it looks like it paid off as the duo is set to perform this Sunday night. Anderson and Bruno kept tweeting each other back and forth in mock outrage as part of their plan to encourage their fans to join the hashtag.

They eventually wrote a letter to the Grammy’s organizers saying, “If you can see it in your hearts to allow two out-of-work musicians to perform at your show, we would really appreciate it. We just released a song and could really use the promotion right now”.

The letter continues, “We’ll send in an audition tape and take as many covid tests as we need to. I promise we won’t be extra. We just really want a gig again. I hope you’ll consider this request and give us the opportunity to shine.”

Seemingly their request was considered and the Recording Academy confirmed on Twitter that the band will be among those performing.

The duo recently released a single  “Leave The Door Open” which took the fans by storm, garnering over  20 million views in only a week.
