The year 2021 might as well be Cardi’s year as her song “Bodak Yellow” was recently certified to be RIIA diamond.
In addition to her breakout hit song going diamond, the ‘Up’ hitmaker is also among the artists scheduled to perform at the upcoming Grammy Awards be held on the 15th of this month at the Los Angeles Convention Centre, hosted by The Daily Show’s Trevor Noah.
Cardi’s song “Bodak Yellow” smashed records landing her in the top ten, making her the first female rapper to do so since Nicki Minaj in 2014. The song was also at one point the longest-running Billboard No.1 song by a female rapper and only recently beat by Lizzo’s “Truth Hurts”.

Cardi is the most awarded female rapper at the Billboard Music Awards, BET Hip Hop Awards, iHeartRadio Music Awards, and Guinness World Records and her accolades include a Grammy Award, eight Billboard Music Awards, five Guinness World Records, five American Music Awards, eleven BET Hip Hop Awards and two ASCAP Songwriter of the Year awards.
In 2018 Time magazine included her on their annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world, and in 2020, Billboard honored her as Woman of the Year.
