Bob Marley’s granddaughter Donisha Pendergast was detained last week by Carlifornia police after neighbours called the cops with claims of bulgary. Prendergast and two friends rented an Airbnb in a mostly white neighbourhood while they attended the Kaya Fest in San Bernardino Carlifornia.
According to Donisha’s Instagram, the neighbour called the police who responded to the scene very quickly. According to another friend present at the scene the sitaution escalated pretty quickly. Based on an article on USA TODAY, “Fyffe-Marshall, a filmmaker, detailed the group’s experience saying they were surrounded by seven police cars and a helicopter as officers demanded they put their hands in the air. While the group was joking at the misunderstanding at first, she said things escalated about 20 minutes into the encounter.”

In a press release, the Rialto Police Department explained that they are still yet to settle the matter in court with Donisha and her associates. The release read, “On May 7, 2018, the Rialto Police Department was served with notification of pending legal action on behalf of Donisha Prendergast, and 2 other people involved in the encounter, indentified as Komi -Oluwa Olafimihan and Kelly Fyffee Marshall. Due to this pending litigation, the department is now limited on its response, but is preserving all evidence of the call and officer interaction.”
