Let’s face it. One day, someday, we will all DIE. We will be lying on that cold slab. Breathless, lifeless.Finally silent. We won’t be buried with the things we loved or worked so hard to possess. The most we will be buried with, if we are lucky is a fancy coffin. Perhaps a designer suit or dress. Some stylish watch, if we are lucky. And it’s a wrap. That would be it. DEAD, GONE, and life will go on like we were never around.
Looking at the big picture
The only thing that will be left behind once we breath our last is our legacy – the impact of our actions and decisions. Suppose you die today, what will be your greatest achievement? Do you know that you write your legacy EVERYDAY by the things you DO and the things you DON’T DO. Your life is GIFT, what you do with your life is your GIFT TO THE WORLD. Wherever you are, whoever you are, whatever you are doing, I encourage you to strive to make a difference and be AN AGENT OF CHANGE in your workplace, home and community.
Don’t live without a clue why you exist. Don’t go through life like a robot. There’s nothing sad like living on earth for many years and not have a clue why you existed. Unfortunately most of are leading directionless lives from one day to the next, hoping that some day something will just come up from nowhere and change our lives for the better. However, this usually does not happen unless we take charge of our lives; unless we decide that its time to make the changes ourselves instead of waiting for them to happen.
I believe there’s more to life than simply existing. There’s got to be more to life than growing up, study, work, marry, have children, work some more, retire, get sickly and die. I believe we all have a unique assignment to complete that’s why our existence became necessary. You are not alive by accident or for the entertainment of the Creator. Your existence is pegged with a divine expectation and assignment. Don’t go through life second-guessing your existence and purpose. DISCOVER YOUR PURPOSE in life. I am a believer that when you have clarity about WHY you exist and where you are going nothing can stop you. Remember opportunity dances with those who are already on the dancing floor.
TIME our most precious resource
The only thing a rich person and a poor person; successful people and unsuccessful people; young and old; educated and uneducated; privileged and less-privileged have in common is TIME. The all have 24 hours in a day. How you use your time therefore determines who you become. So, my question to you is this: How precious is your time? Are you utilising your time effectively to realise your dreams, or do you waste it in things that aren’t leading you to your destiny.
Remember time is FREE, but its PRICELESS. You can’t OWN IT, but you CAN USE IT. You can’t KEEP IT, but you CAN SPEND IT. Unfortunately, once you have lost it you can NEVER get it back.
Remember anything that doesn’t affect or impact your destiny and purpose in life, should never be a priority to you. We are here in earth for a REASON and a SEASON. Your life on earth is determined by time, and the moment your time is up – you will be gone like the morning dew. My challenge therefore to you is to use the time God has given you to be useful, resourceful, productive and fruitful on earth. The ONLY thing you are assured of is right NOW. Realise that there are ONLY two days in the year that nothing can be done. One is called yesterday and the other is called tomorrow. TODAY is the ONLY day you have to make a change in the world. Its the only day you have to live a life of purpose, express love and kindness, be nice to people, help the need and simply be an agent of change.
Don’t assume you have tomorrow
Start doing what you plan to do NOW. There’s nothing disastrous as a lost opportunity. Remember, while you are still thinking and trying to figure out your plans, dreams and purpose – THE CLICK IS STILL TICKING. You can’t figure out everything at once. However you can decide today, right now to chase your dreams no matter the challenges, uncertainty or your circumstances. I encourage you to take risks. Explore. Discover and fly away into your purpose and destiny. For years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things you DIDN’T DO than the things you DID.
