Bebe Cool Releases “Circumference” – Music Video Shot In South Africa

Uganda’s music legend Bebe Cool has released the music video for his latest single “Circumference” – the lead single off his upcoming album ‘Break The Chains’ set for an April 2025 release. Directed by Garrick Williams, the video shot in South Africa presents an artistic and symbolic journey that beautifully complements the themes of the song.

“Circumference” video opens with Bebe Cool wandering as a homeless man through a desolate landscape at sunset, evoking a sense of isolation and introspection. This lonely journey takes an unexpected turn when he stumbles upon a view-master, which transports him into a dreamlike world filled with ethereal women dressed in white. Garrick’s direction delivers a minimalist yet profound visual experience

Expressing his excitement about the video release and his upcoming projects, Bebe Cool shared, “The release of the Circumference video marks the beginning of a new chapter in my music journey. I am happy to give my fans and the world this visual masterpiece.”

“Circumference” heralds the coming of ‘Break the Chains’, Bebe Cool’s highly anticipated album that promises to explore new sonic territories and his return to the concert stage, his first since 2018. The video that premiered on MTV Base has already captured significant attention, reinforcing Bebe Cool’s commitment to elevating his artistry and pushing the boundaries of music videos.

Bebe Cool reveals, “2025 will be a groundbreaking year for me with ‘Break the Chains’ album reflecting my evolution as an artist and pushing the boundaries of what African music can achieve. I can’t wait for everyone to experience the full spectrum of this album and the stories it tells.”

Bebe Cool’s musical journey began in 1997 when he made a bold move to Nairobi, where he quickly became one of the first artists to sign with Ogopa Deejays, a pioneering record label in the East African music scene. Bebe was instrumental in establishing Uganda’s modern sound and significantly elevated the social scene in the early 2000s with his captivating voice and sometimes polarizing performances. In 2004, he joined forces with Kenyan reggae and Hip Hop group Necessary Noize, comprising Wyre and Nazizi, to form the award-winning East African Bashment Crew. The supergroup achieved continental success with hits like “Africa Unite”, “Kube”, “This Tune” and “Fire Anthem” off their debut album ‘Fire’. Bebe Cool’s career continues to evolve and his legacy as a groundbreaking artist remains firmly entrenched in the fabric of Uganda and African music.
