Nigerian superstar Asake is the sole African nominee at the 2025 BRIT Awards.
Renowned for his innovative fusion of Afrobeats and contemporary music, Asake earned a nomination in the prestigious BRITs International Artist of the Year category. The nod follows the success of his third studio album, Lungu Boy, which has captivated audiences across Africa and beyond.
The BRIT Awards, globally recognized as one of the music industry’s most prestigious events, are set to take place on March 1, 2025, at the iconic O2 Arena in London.
The Beatles have received their first BRIT Award nomination in over 40 years.
Charli XCX leads the nominations with five, with her Song of the Year recognition joined by places on the shortlists for Artist of the Year, Pop promoted by Capital, Dance Act promoted by KISS, and the coveted Mastercard Album of the Year for ‘Brat’.
In the International categories, Benson Boone, Beyonce, Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, and Taylor Swift each scored two nominations, for both International Artist and International Song of the Year.

The five genre categories – Pop, Dance, Alternative/ Rock, Hip-Hop and R+B – are all fan voted, with nominees open via the Brits What’sApp channel from 31 January. People can vote once in each category every 24 hours until it closes on 14 February.
