5 ways to build consistency in uncertain times

With consistency one is able to build and maintain good habits like working out and constantly learning new things. The only challenge is that consistency is not easy to master.

Consistency is the ability to act in the same way over time so as to be fair and accurate. It is no doubt that consistency is needed to achieve great success. Every great entrepreneur cites that the difference between successful entrepreneurs and failures is the fact that the successful ones kept fighting consistently.

Here are some few ways to build and maintain consistency:
1.       Focus on one goal
If you have too many things that you want to be consistent at, you will fail terribly because focus is an essential key to building consistency. Isolating one goal will help you maximize your mental energy and will help to achieve it. Once you succeed it helps build consistency for other goals. It’s easier to be consistent when one’s behavior isn’t erratic or distracted.
2.       Build a system around the goal you want to achieve.
Medium.com advises that you should build a system of tasks, rewards, routines, consequences, events, tools that will push you to be consistent. It helps build the frame of mind that will enable you to keep going and keep growing.
3.       Ensure that there is growth
Growth and constant increase is a great motivator to being consistent. Ensure that there is development in your journey towards being consistent at something. Failure to making progress, however little, will kill and hamper your morale. Even negligible increase and progress is growth, so note it and celebrate it.
4.       Transcend your feelings
The body will not go along with you as you try to carve out a new good habit. There will be opposition from your feelings since they are bound to fluctuate momentarily.Go against opposing feelings because in reality, your feelings don’t have the capacity to impede you from succeeding.
5.       Celebrate small wins
Every small milestone that you cross is a checkpoint to the right direction. Small milestones are a testament to the fact that you are headed to your desired destination. If you notice some small changes in your body as a result of working out or if your concentration span has increased by five minutes, celebrate that. You will hardly notice when you actually achieve the big change because consistency eventually becomes a lifestyle.
