However, this popular opinion may not be true. Incorporating various foods high in carbohydrates ensures that you fuel your workouts and keep your blood sugars stable throughout the day. Here are a few foods that are guaranteed to accelerate your weight loss journey when combines with regular exercise.

1.Cauliflower and Broccoli

These simple vegetables could be a perfect replacement for over processed white rice. Low in fat, cholesterol and high in fiber, cauliflower and broccoli are packed with vitamins and minerals that essential for gut health, keeping your waistline trim. Cauliflower, in particular, is a good source of fiber. According to a HealthLine report, cauliflower slows digestion and promotes feelings of fullness. This may automatically reduce the number of calories you eat throughout the day, an important factor in weight control.

2. Sweet Potato

A portion of popular breakfast food for most Kenyans, sweet potato is more versatile than we think served up boiled, mashed or even fried. This starchy root vegetable is high in fiber and low in fat. Healthline reports that “cooked sweet potatoes contain about 18–21% carbs that consist of starch, sugar, and fiber. Sweet potatoes are a rich source of provitamin A (from beta-carotene), vitamin C and potassium.”

3.Rolled Oats

Oats are the humble hero of the simple breakfast. Delivering 379 Calories per 100 g of oats, this cereal is easy to prepare and can be served up as a breakfast food as porridge, granola, or even be part of your lunch and dinner. Healthy Mummy points out oats are also a great source of manganese, selenium, vitamin B1, dietary fiber, magnesium, protein, and phosphorus.

4.Brown Rice

It might not be as tasty as white rice, but brown rice is guaranteed to get your waist snatched. If you are looking to lose the Christmas weight, a serving of brown rice is chock-full of fiber and vitamins that could transform your health and accelerate your journey to being fit.
